Accessing the Emails from the Follow Button

  Can I access the email addresses of those who opt-into my site via the “Follow” button?

  My blog has over 1100 people “Following” me according to the Follow Button widget but I want to know if those are actually people following me and where can I access their email addresses? I can see the email addresses for those who opt-into my blog via my email opt-in but that’s only 27 people. The numbers don’t add up.

  I think you have located this already but:
  Go to your site stats page http://wordpress.com/#!/my-stats/ and scroll down to “Totals, Followers & Shares” on the left
  Click the Blog link under the number http://wordpress.com/#!/my-stats/?blog_subscribers and the My Followers page will open. The total there on the left at the top is the number of people following your blog in the WordPress.com Reader. Click the Email Followers link. http://wordpress.com/#!/my-stats/?blog_subscribers&type=email

  your blog followers is the sum of the following:
  WordPress.com blog followers (WordPress.com reader followers and email followers)
  Any followers from connected Publicize services (Facebook, Twitter, Messenger Connect, Yahoo!, or LinkedIn), which you can enable in Settings -> Sharing

  Yes and I just described how to do that above. Click the Email Followers link. http://wordpress.com/#!/my-stats/?blog_subscribers&type=email

  No. That is not what I mean. There are over 1200 email unaccounted for on my site. If you look at my site, while you are logged out of wordpress, you will see a “+Follow” button on the bottom right hand side. It says that 1200 people are following me. You opt into this feature by entering your email. I want to know where those email addresses are stored and how/if I can access them.

  I guess my discrepancy is in the numbers. I show 1200+ people opt-ed in but only have 27 emails when I look under my email followers. I also have a number of other WordPress bloggers following me but the difference in the email addresses doesn’t add up. That’s what I’m trying to figure out. Does that make sense? Thank you very much for any help.

  We all have such numbers because once one clicks that they can then set their preferences for email receipt here > http://wordpress.com/#!/read/edit/ and most choose only to use the Reader.
