Accessing WordPress posts with a expired domain
-
Hi there, Blogged our way around a world trip but have let it all expire since our return a few years ago. I’m not so worried about the domain but I cannot even access the basic wordpress site where the blogs are created etc.
Do I need to try and reactivate my domain or is there a way around it so that I can just reread my blog posts? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

@boundtworamble this site was not hosted on our servers — it seems it was an individual, self-managed site with another host:
Can you get in touch with your old host to see if they’ve kept a copy for you?

Thanks @supernovia.
I contacted ipage and our account has been deleted and nothing was kept.
Stupidly, I assumed that as I was writing through wordpress the content would be kept on the wordpress site.
Any tips on the next steps in retrieving/reactivating our web page?
Thanks,
boundtworamble

This shows the benefit of being hosted here at WordPress.com rather than elsewhere. If your site had been hosted here then a free site would have been preserved even if your domain expired. As it happens the Internet Archive has some content that you could perhaps copy/paste into a new site.

Thanks @themagicrobot. :)
@boundtworamble, the content would be kept in the installation so long as that installation existed. But if your host clears your entire account, including your installation, it would be gone.We don’t delete our installation, so your content would still be here had it been hosted with us. You’re welcome to set up a new site and add what you can salvage from the tips @themagicrobot recommended.
