Hi there – stupidly closed my account and seem to have lost my domain! Know it’s a total pain and a big mistake on my part – is it impossible to get it back?

Hi there
Tried adding the domain so I can send/receive email from my current GSuite set-up – followed the instructions, added the MX records and Google Workspace set-up, added the domain to GSuite.
But no emails being received when I test – what am I doing wrong :) ?

It sounds and looks like you’ve done the right thing here.
Can you tell me if the TXT verification record is still valid. It would be the record obtained here: https://wordpress.com/support/add-email/add-email-through-google-workspace/#set-up-google-workspace-with-a-txt-record
If you’re able to generate a new one, this would help to rule out any issues there.

Thanks. I had to add the alias on the gsuite admin console as well as settings, hopefully sorted now – waiting for the update to take effect, fingers crossed :)
