Accidental comment from work account deleted but replies still showing, help!
-
I really hope someone can help me and perhaps contact me privately.
I accidentally made a comment on a blog while logged into a work account on WordPress (not this account), and it looked like my comment came from the head of our institution!
The owner of the blog kindly deleted the comment for me, but the replies are still showing up in the ‘comments I’ve made’ section in the work account’s reader. I was under the impression these should disappear if the original comment is deleted. I desperately want these to be gone. Can anyone help?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I was under the impression these should disappear if the original comment is deleted.
Comments made to a site (whether in response to one you left or not) are not attached to the comment in that sense. Deleting the parent comment does not delete the “children” so to speak.
You would need to ask the site owner to remove those on your behalf, as this is content (rather than a technical issue) and not something we can help with directly, regardless of wether it is associated with this user account or another account you were logged in under.

Thanks Jerry
I wasn’t trying to delete the child comments though.
Rather, I wanted them to stop appearing in the ‘comments I’ve made’ view in the blog admin as they were surely no longer relevant if the original comment has been deleted.

Gotcha,
So a few things here:
– that is something I can look into further
– first I need to speak to the owner of the affected accountI have no details from you as to what account this is related to, plus I need some validation (by hearing from the affected user) in order to proceed. Can you log in under the affected account here in this conversation?
