About a month ago, I ran into a problem with being able to upload media files. Since 2008, I have had this site and never had an issue with available media storage. I have a new camera, with high resolution, and did not decrease the size of the pictures before uploading to wordpress. I did not understand how quickly my media library would fill up. I thought that once the pictures were in the blog entry, via upload through the media library, I could delete some media and upload more. I did not understand that the picture files needed to always be in the media library in order to remain in the post. Today, I looked back on my blog and noticed several blog entries without media files; apparently due to the fact I deleted them from the media library. After talking with a friend, who is a wordpress subscriber for 6 yrs, I became aware of my GRAVE mistake. Is there anyway you have a backup of my blog entries from around the July 25th date and would be able to reinstate that version of those blogs so that I can get my media library back. I understand I will have to purchase more media room from wordpress and will be willing to do this, if I can PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get my pictures back.

Sorry to bear bad news, but I’m afraid that once you delete a file from your library, it’s gone forever.

It’s always a good idea to keep a copy of all of your media files on your computer or a web-based service like Flickr.
