Accidentally changed website URL
-
Hi all,
I am not an IT person at all, just tech savy enough to have decided to try and create my own website with WordPress to save some money. Now I changed the url of my website a while ago, just to see if that was possible but… I seem to have broken my website. I always get the 403 error.
The original address was http://www.cocoonmindfulorganizing.eu and now it is robyn.eu.Can anyone help me fix this?
I can’t seem to access any of the settings without getting the 403 error window….Robyn
WP.com: Yes
Jetpack: Yes
Correct account: YesThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Robyn,
A 403 error usually means your server is blocking access due to permission issues or a misconfigured URL in WordPress settings. Since you changed the site address, you might need to update it directly in the database via phpMyAdmin or through your hosting panel. Look for thesiteurlandhomevalues in the wp_options table and set them back to your working domain. Also, check if your
.htaccessfile has any incorrect redirects and reset file permissions (usually755for folders and644for files).I recently went through something similar when working on askmid — fixing the URL settings in the database and clearing the cache solved it instantly. Hope this helps you get back online!

We can’t help as that site isn’t running on the wordpress.com platform. You must contact your hosting which is squarespace as your account has expired.

Hey Robyn,
I understand how concerning it can feel when things stop working unexpectedly. I checked and the site you mentioned — robyn.eu — isn’t hosted on WordPress.com, but it is connected to us through Jetpack. This means the site settings and URL changes are managed with your hosting provider instead. You can confirm your hosting provider here: https://wordpress.com/site-profiler/robyn.eu
I recommend that you contact your hosting provider’s support team to fix the 403 error and update your site’s URL in their settings.
And if you ever want to move your site to WordPress.com, we offer fully managed hosting with automatic updates, backups, built-in performance tools, and expert support. You can even request a free migration and get up to 50% off your first year on our Business plan: https://wordpress.com/support/request-a-free-migration/
If you need help in starting with WordPress.com, do let us know.

Thank you all for your responses, greatly appreciated. I created a ticket with mijn.host.nl who I bought the domain name from. I hope they can fix this for me.
