Accidentally changed wordpress site url and now site does not work
-
Hi there,
I am using my personal account, as I have a login for the site in question, but I don’t know the details for the account associated with it.
I have changed the URL by accident, and want to get it back, but can’t. The website URL is http://chalkwovens.com/. It had the additional /wp/ on the end, and I got rid of it thinking it work. It has not, and has instead stopped the site from working altogether. Just to be clear the full URL should read chalkwovens.com/wp/
How can I fix this?
Thanks,
Laurie. -
I have added “modlook” tag for the staff assistance. You will get a reply soon from the staf

All fixed. I got in via ftp and coded this into the top of the wp-config.php file
define(‘WP_HOME’,’https://yourdomain.com’);
define(‘WP_SITEURL’,’https://yourdomain.com’);It all works now.
it was confusing as the wp-config.php file was had not been edited by wordpress, so you have to put it in yourself to override it
