Accidentally clicked 'publish' (again) … please put a block on it!

With the introduction of Publicise and the email subscription lists, there is effectively no way of recalling a post. Yes, you can change typos on the blog itself, but the original version has already been emailed to people. You can also cannot redact a post, because Twitter and Facebook have already notified people about it.

Twice recently I have clicked ‘publish’ by mistake. Once I wanted to set a time delay before publishing and forgot. The post went live before I wanted it.

Secondly, I did not preview the post before clicking ‘Publish’ because I through, wrongly, I had put a time dealy in. It went up full of typos, and my email list got the full typo-filled version.

So, please, what I want is this:

When you click ‘Publish’ with no time delay set, a box should come up saying ‘Do you want to publish this immediately?’. There can be an option somewhere to stop the box coming up for those who hate it, but such a box would have stopped me making two big mistakes recently.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

(Ironically, as you can see, I have also made a few typos above! This is why I need a check box to stop me publishing stuff immediately with no time delay!)

Why don’t you use an offline blog editor instead? Then it doesn’t publish until you connect to the internet and deliberately upload it.
