Accidentally created two blogs!

  Hi! It looks like I created two blogs with the same Title, but different “XXX.wordpress.com” addresses. But I’m not sure. In Dashboard, there are two blogs, one with khahmed.wordpress.com as an address and the other with islamicfinancejourney.wordpress.com.

  How do I get rid of one of them but not all of the rest of my blogs? Or is this normal? Thanks!

  Hello Khahmed,

  If you want to get rid of one of your blogs, you would have to delete it. Go to the Dashboard for the blog you want to delete and under Tools there is a link called Delete Site. You will see a drop down and if you choose “Permanently delete my site’s address and all content” you will need to check the box to permanently remove and click on the Delete button. Just make sure you definitely want to delete the site because once you do this, you won’t be able to get your address or content back.

  If you want to change the Title for one of your blogs, you can simply do this under Settings > General.

  Although WP seems to suggest it is much better to keep a site hidden, rather than delete it (once it is gone, it is gone)).

  Thanks for the advice, but it deleted the wrong one. There was no option to differentiate. I did NOT click the confirmation in the email. Is there a way to get back the one I “almost” deleted?

  All blogs are independent sites so what you do on or with one has no effects on any others. To delete a free hosted WordPress.COM blog you must be logged in under the exact same username account that registered the blog. To prevent accidental or inadvertent deletion of blogs, there are multiple warnings given that blog deletion is permanent and irreversible. Lastly, a verification link is sent in an email and must be clicked to delete a blog. If clicking that link does not work then copy and paste it into your upper browser window and click.

  Deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and no exceptions are made.

  Alternatively, to change blog visibility to private so you can use the unwanted blog for testing and or as a backup blog go to > Settings > Reading scroll to Blog Visibility and choose option 3 .
