Accidentally deleted jetpack and website is gone

  • Unknown's avatar

I wanted to change my site’s url, and the moment I did that a jetpack popup came up. I accidentally deleted jetpack and the moment I did that, the whole website disappeared from my dashboard. I now cannot access it again. Is there any way I can get my website back?

  • Hi there,

Is this for moteabanhmi.com? I see that site is currently offline.

Deleting or disconnecting Jetpack just removes the site from the site list in your WordPress.com account.

Your site itself is still safe and sound on your hosting provider’s servers. But if by changing the URL you mean you changed the address in Settings ->General, you’ve likely disconnected your site from your domain, which is why it’s not loading – there’s a specific process you need to follow to update the URL of a stand-alone WordPress site like yours (which can vary from one host to the next), and changing that setting is just one of the steps. If you change that setting without completing the other required steps first, that only breaks your site.

Please contact support at your hosting provider directly for help getting your domain reconnected to your site.

Once your site is accessible on its domain again, log into your admin user account, and go to the Jetpack tab in the dashboard. Follow the steps there to reconnect Jetpack to your WordPress.com account, and it will become listed on our end again.

Let me know if you have any questions about this.
