Accidentally Deleted Post

  • Unknown's avatar

As any posts about this that I could find are over a year old I am asking if this is the right thing to do before I do it:

I deleted an “empty” “unpublished” post that turned out to be a published one that had content in it but which my browser deceived me on. It showed an empty box and the button still said Publish.

If I understand things correctly I need to “restore” the post and comments by reposting it with today’s date (versus the 24 sept date it had) and add the comments from my email (which is easy enough). IS this correct?

I really wish I could have it in the correct order in relation to the other posts and with the correct date. It will seem odd to see a post about me being upset over my unborn child being diagnosed with Downs, prior to the post about it having downs.

Thanks for any help in advance.

We cannot answer technical questions without a link to the blog in question, starting with http.

    http://thehaganxp.wordpress.com

specifically the deleted post is http://thehaganxp.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?action=edit&post=81 I believe.

Also, the http address of the blog is in the “Select the blog you need help with” box of right above my post. Why does it not include it somehow here? It lead me to believe the post would include it. Sorry I misunderstood and thanks for the prompt reply.

“…the “Select the blog you need help with” box of right above my post. Why does it not include it somehow here?…”

That is only viewable by staff. In this forum, we are your fellow bloggers, volunteers, so we cannot see that information. I don’t know why it is not posted here, but it isn’t. I don’t understand that either!

Sorry that I don’t have any advice to help with your question.

ok thanks 1tess. 8) You can tell its my first time asking for help.

No worries. But that is why you should provide a link.

I still can’t answer your question though. But some one else will most likely be able to help you. :-)

If I were you, what I’d do is go to Google, which probably has a cached version of the post, and copy the post from the cache. Then make a NEW post with the same title and edit the date/time to that of the original post (which should be visible in the cached version) and paste in that copy.
