accidentally deleting a widget
-
Last night, tired, I accidentally deleted my ‘blogroll’ widget while attempting to add link 2 a friend’s blog. How do I get it back. Don’t think it went to ‘inactive widgets’. Can’t find it. Is it gone forever. Do I have to get all those links personally?

You are referring to the Links widget.
Customizer https://en.support.wordpress.com/customizer/
You can create a blogroll or related sites no matter where they are hosted. You can create/edit a Blogroll in your Dashboard http://en.support.wordpress.com/blogroll/add-a-blogroll-link/ and then display it by installing the Links widget. http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/links-widget/
We cannot enter links into the widget itself. The Links widget merely displays the links we enter in our dashboard “Links”. We enter a new link this way > http://en.support.wordpress.com/blogroll/add-a-blogroll-link/

Thanks timethief—I have NO IDEA how, but I re-“added” the link widget & miraculously my previous page returned. I shall keep your nugget of info (above) for future disasters!! Bless
