Accidentally live, no privacy option?
-
Hi. I accidentally made my blog live when it is nowhere near ready and I can’t find a way to undo this action. I also have no “privacy” option under settings on my dashboard to make it private. What can I do? I’ll pay to have an upgraded version or better support, but right now, I just need my blog to be private. Help? Please?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello!
You should be able to go to this page after you log into your WordPress.com account: https://wordpress.com/settings/general/herleyberley.wordpress.com
From here, just scroll a bit until you find the Privacy section and change your Privacy to Private.

Also you can learn more about this here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/
Hope this was helpful.

Thank you! One more question though, this doesn’t look anything like the dashboard that I am working on. The blog I’m working on is bigobookblog.com, but I don’t see anything on the link you sent me that corresponds with the site I’m working on? Is there a way to check that?

Actually, now that I compare the two sites, even the dashboards are different. Everything is different. I appreciate your help.

Looking at your domain (bigobookblog.com), I see that this is not hosted on WordPress.com, but on HostGator. What this tells us is that you are WordPress.org user, not a WordPress.com user.
This forum is dedicated only to the websites hosted on WordPress.com.

Hope this helps!

Sorry, thank you. You guys must have special powers of patience with people like me. Have a great day!

Of course, now I can’t log in to their site. Do you know if there is a help function for them that does not require a password? Serves me right for waiting a year to deal with this…
