Accordion to Open from Anchor Link

    I have been scouring the web for days trying every page builder and every shortcode that talks about accordions.

    I am very frustrated, to say the least. I have built a site with Twenty Seventeen theme and Elementor page builder. I am presently building a FAQ page and I want to be able to put anchor links throughout the other pages that will link to the FAQ page and open the appropriate accordion on that page.

    I tried anchor links to the specific accordion title # (doesn’t open).. I tried Divi because they said it was possible and their editor wouldn’t show up on the page.. I tried Beaver and their was no accordion module… I tried many shortcodes and couldn’t figure it out. If only Elementor would listen to the people and ad IDs to each accordion title.

    This seems pretty simple and straight forward to have FAQ accordions with this feature. It looks like I am going to need to create a child theme and use JS code to make this work.. I don’t really want to go that route. I am hoping someone has been successful in doing this and can explain how to do it.

    Since you can’t install plugins of WordPress.com free plan, I guess you’re talking about a site that is using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted elsewhere.

    Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers.
