    I tried to create a personal blog for myself. Your website said free at that level, but after the naming portion, I was prompted for billing options. Why?
    I want to use WordPress, but your process is misleading

    Hi lollipopsandbatteryacid,

    We offer the option to create a free site with “.wordpress.com” in the address — they are listed underneath the search box.

    Custom domains (example.com) are only available through paid plans, so that could be why you being asked to upgrade.
