-
I have activated my account entered my new site address and registered my blog but when trying to access ‘My Site’ I am told that ‘You dont have any WordPress Sites yet, would I lile tro start one?’ What am I doing wrong?

Hi @cryptochatmcom,
Can you share the URL of the blog you have registered? I notice one blog under your username, which is https://cryptochatcom.wordpress.com/.
Is this the one you are trying to access? On the Dashboard, on the top left-hand side just after you click on “My Sites”, you will find “Switch Sites” below it. You will have the list of your sites in that option.
Let me know how it goes, would be happy to assist you further.
Thanks!

Hi, @cryptochatcom!
Do you have multiple WordPress.com accounts? It might be you are not logged in under the correct username account (the one that registered the site https://cryptochatcom.wordpress.com/)
You must be logged in under the exact same username that registered the site to be able to access the site.
If you are not logged in under the correct username account then you need to clear your browser cache first: https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache
and your cookies:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-wordpress-com-cookies
and then login correctly under your correct username account. Here you can find the Admin login link for your blog:

Hope this helps!

Sorted thanks, just a further question, when I log into WordPress via normal user and password I only get the dropdown on the left but when I access the site via your link https://cryptochatcom.wordpress.com/wp-admin/ …..I get access to the improved editor “There’s an easier way to create on WordPress.com. Switch to the improved editor” and I can toggle between the two editor options? confused….I have been doing this “blog” for years now via simple e-mail and have had peeps saying to me “get your stuff onto a proper blog”…..Eish….thought it would be quite simple but am struggling with getting a handle with how the WordPress GUI works? for instance I have set up and saved my site identity and can edit the “About” option but not the “Home” ? is that related to the theme (am using twenty sixteen) any suggestions on good video links on initial setup? have been onto WordPress help Videos but find that they are quite general.

Sorted thanks, just a further question, I am not running the installed version of WordPress but the online version,
1) When I log into WordPress via normal user and password I only get the dropdown on the left but when I access the site via the link https://cryptochatcom.wordpress.com/wp-admin/ …..I get access to the improved editor “There’s an easier way to create on WordPress.com. Switch to the improved editor” and I can toggle between the two editor options? why can I not get the improved editor under a normal login? confused….
2) I have been doing this “blog” for years now via simple e-mail and have had peeps saying to me “get your stuff onto a proper blog”…..is there any way I can upload all my other blogs in (older) date order to WordPress?
Eish….thought it would be quite simple but am struggling with getting a handle with how the WordPress GUI works?
3) for instance I have set up and saved my site identity and can edit the “About” option but not the “Home” ? is that related to the theme (am using twenty sixteen) or is this “Home” function access linked to each individual blog post so that you can change the “Home” detail for each separate blog?…. any suggestions on good video links on initial setup? have been onto WordPress help Videos but find that they are quite general.

Hi @cryptochatcom,
1) When I log into WordPress via normal user and password I only get the dropdown on the left but when I access the site via the link https://cryptochatcom.wordpress.com/wp-admin/ .....I get access to the improved editor "There's an easier way to create on WordPress.com. Switch to the improved editor" and I can toggle between the two editor options? why can I not get the improved editor under a normal login? confused....There are two Dashboards of WordPress, the normal user which has the dropdown is called the “Calypso”. And the other one is known as the Wp-Admin. The normal one is the new one. All the Video’s and help in the support document are based using this editor. In some cases, the Wp-admin may is used. Best practice is to use the regular editor.
2) I have been doing this "blog" for years now via simple e-mail and have had peeps saying to me "get your stuff onto a proper blog".....is there any way I can upload all my other blogs in (older) date order to WordPress?Yes, you can upload Posts with back dates. While you upload you can schedule the Post to a back date, you can learn more about it here:

Eish....thought it would be quite simple but am struggling with getting a handle with how the WordPress GUI works? 3) for instance I have set up and saved my site identity and can edit the "About" option but not the "Home" ? is that related to the theme (am using twenty sixteen) or is this "Home" function access linked to each individual blog post so that you can change the "Home" detail for each separate blog?.... any suggestions on good video links on initial setup? have been onto WordPress help Videos but find that they are quite general. The Home page can be set up using various options, and it depends on the theme. In your case, as you use the “Twenty Sixteen” theme, you can set up your home page as a Custom Static Front Page or set it as your “Latest Posts”. You can learn more about your theme here:
