    How can I fix this and finish setting the account up correctly? (preferably without destroying the login ID I created – because I can REMEMBER it!)

    It looks like you’ve already closed the account. If you change your mind, you can reply to the email we sent you after the account closure – within the first 30 days it’s possible to restore the account.

    Since you won’t be able to reply to this message I’ll be closing this thread.
