Account associated with Website
-
Hello,
I would like to get access to an old WordPress page of my company:
https://creditsafede.wordpress.com/. Using the “password reset” function is possible, as I can get access to the emails of the ex-employees. How can I found out with which email address the page is associated? Thanks in advance

Hi there, the email address associated with the site owner account is not information that can be shared publicly. However, if you know it, you can try using the username account instead of the email in that password reset form.
If you are not sure of the username account and the site was set up to send notifications of new comments and contact form submissions, try leaving a comment on that site or sending a contact form and then see to what email address that is sent.
If you are still unable to discern which email address/username has been used, you can try to recover the account via the account recovery form. https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/ Give as much information as you possibly can in that form.

Hi there,
thanks for your fast reply. I tried the email addresses of previous marketeers, but they are not connected to that page. Unfortunately, I can´t use the account recovery form, as I do not have the activation URL or transaction ID (the page was set up 6 years ago). Is there another way of authentifying myself as employee of the company and get control over the page back?
Kind regards

Did you try the suggestion I gave earlier to leave a comment on the site in order to see if a notification email shows up in one of those email accounts?

The site belongs to the person who set it up here on WordPressdotcom. WordPressdotcom won’t turn it over to someone else.

Hello,
I left a comment, but it does not show up in the email accounts. Thus I assume the page has been created with a general company address. I can understand that you are not sharing the email address publicly, but could you tell me the first letters of it?
The page is containing outdated information about our brand and states it was written by us (imprint, etc.) , so the ownership either belongs to us or the author was unlawfully pretending to write on our behalf. Do you see a chance in emailing the author and, if he does not answer in a given time, to take the page offline?
Best regards

Hello again, thanks for confirming that you took that step. Did you subsequently try those general company addresses in the password reset form?
If you are not able to recover the account through the password or recovery form or contact the person who set up the site here on WordPressdotcom so they transfer the site ownership to you or someone else in the company, there’s nothing further that can be done. As I mentioned earlier, the site is owned by the person that registered the site here. WordPressdotcom has a strict policy in place in these cases to prevent someone from gaining access to someone else’s account/site.
If you are setting up a new website, the new site will eventually push the old site down in search engine returns.
Wish I had better news for you.
