Account billing.

    1) I have never created ‘astronarrative.’ I don’t wish to be billed for it. 2) I have discontinued all of my recent WordPress blog sites. I don’t want to be billed for sites such as astrostory.blog or astroreturns.wordpress.com. 3) I am still pissed off at WordPress because you have locked me out of my ninthhouse.wordpress.com account. I had run that for nine years. I can’t remember the names and passwords I used to create it. But, my photos, my books, my magazine articles, my personall references are all over that site. I have lost the following I had and my book sales have fallen off badly. I am very upset with WordPress. DO NOT BILL ME FOR ANYTHING. Dave Monroe

If you no longer have access to an account, there are several ways to restore access, https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/.
https://astronarrative.wordpress.com/ is a site you made; it has your name and picture on the front page and is connected to this account.

There are a number of misunderstandings at play here. I don’t remember ever creating “astronarratives” as a site. I may have created a page heading to see it I liked the name and splash page. I have done this many times and then not gone ahead with those efforts. I don’t believe I have posted and maintained that site, as I never remembered it. *** I killed astrostory.blog several weeks ago, believing that was the only site I had going. *** My old site was denied to me for further access because I could not remember passwords, etc. from many years ago when it was created or last verified. That site is ninthhouse.wordpress.com, and it can still be viewed, but not posted to. It is my site, has my picture, has my books reviewed and commented on, has my magazine articles, and nine-plus years of archives. *** This is where I see me relative WordPress; locked out, unhappy to the extreme, and being billed for things I don’t want and don’t use.

  • Hi there,

    1) I have never created ‘astronarrative.’ I don’t wish to be billed for it.

You’re posting here as the WordPress.com username account, monroedavid731. You created this account a year ago on 18 July.

The site, http://astronarrative.wordpress.com/, was created by your account on 1 August 2018, and you bought a Personal Plan and the domain, astronarrative.com, for the site on the same day. You can see the receipt for that purchase in your billing history at https://wordpress.com/me/purchases/billing/.

You then added the domain, astrostory.blog, to the same site a few weeks later on 24 August.

Only someone with access to this WordPress.com account or the email address associated with this account, AND access to your credit card could have done this, so if it wasn’t you, it was someone in your household.

The charge from yesterday was for the annual renewal of those purchases, but I see you’ve already received help via email to cancel those and we’ve issued a full refund.

I have discontinued all of my recent WordPress blog sites. I don’t want to be billed for sites such as astrostory.blog or astroreturns.wordpress.com.

You cancelled the domain, astrostory.blog, on 2 June, so there’s absolutely no reason why we’d bill you for it.

astroreturns.wordpress.com does not belong to your account, so there’s no reason at all why you’d be billed for anything related to that site unless you also owned the account that owns that site, and have active upgrades on that site.

I killed astrostory.blog several weeks ago, believing that was the only site I had going.

astrostory.blog and astronarrative.com were used on the same site. You had multiple upgrades active on that site, but you only cancelled the one domain in June, not the plan or the other domain. If you had, you wouldn’t have been charged for their renewal yesterday.

I am still pissed off at WordPress because you have locked me out of my ninthhouse.wordpress.com account. I had run that for nine years. I can’t remember the names and passwords I used to create it.

I can tell you the username that owns that site. It’s dadsnook. You can see it in the About widget at the bottom of every post on the site, like here:

Part One: An Invitation To Russian Interference Was Foolish

If you still have access to the email address you used for that account, you’ll be able to use that to reset your password at https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword

Else you can find our account recovery options here:

    Recover Your Account

We have strict rules in place to prevent unauthorised access to an account, and we can only give you access if you’re able to verify your ownership of the account.
