so, I had to create at least a blog in order to view the ones I’m following, I didn’t know that, thank you again, everything is fully functional now.

Hi there, macmanx – sorry it’s taken me a few days, but I wanted to try a couple of things before I let you know the reader’s still not working. I logged on with IE and it’s working just fine, but I use Safari at home. I had some updates to run, so I went ahead and did that, but it’s still doing the same thing as before. I can’t see the updates, nor any of the other options attached to the “Reader” menu (blogs I follow, find friends, recommended blogs, etc.)

That shouldn’t cause any problems. Are you running any extensions under Safari? If so, would you please check with all of them disabled?

On a Mac, Safari extensions are under Safari (menu) -> Preferences -> Extensions. There’s an Off switch there which you can use to shut them all off.
I believe it’s pretty similar on a PC too.

Okay, I closed extensions. The only one I had was for amazon (add to wish list), if that’s important. After refresh, it’s still not working :/

Does it work well for you in Chrome? Chrome and Safari basically share the same rendering engine.

Hi macmanx, I didn’t want to install Chrome just to find out if it was having the same problem, so I thought I might check it out on my iPad and see if I had the same problem – that way I could figure out if it was something about this computer’s settings, or just a problem with all Safari. Lo and behold, it worked fine on the iPad and when I went back to my Mac, it loaded just fine there, too! I don’t know what was going on, I didn’t change anything (neither when it started having trouble, nor when it “fixed itself,” but I’m happy to report it seems to be okay a day later. Thanks for your help – I’ll let you know if I run into any other issues!
