  You can delete or empty your blog and keep your account for future use if you wish by taking a look at the following:

  Howdy,

  Let’s get you started on closing down the account. Before we proceed, I want you to know that after doing the steps mentioned in the next paragraph, you will not be able to access your account ever again.

  Now, if you wish to leave WordPress.com, you can easily empty and delete your site. Once this is done remove all personal information from your Account Settings and change your password to a random string. This will leave your account inactive and prevent you from gaining access to it in the future. Here are links to useful guides:
