  I want to close out this account and recreate a new one but the same name. I’m ok with a new username but I want the same domain name as this one.
  Please advise.

  Please share your site URL.

  If your site is on WordPress.com, please note closing your account deletes all of the sites you own and all their contents. After a few weeks, the data will be entirely purged from the system, and at this point, the process cannot be reversed.

  Hi there,

  Do not close your account.

  If you close your account, all sites you own will be deleted, and you will not be able to use the same site address again with another account.

  Why do you want to close your account? There might be another option to achieve the same goal you’re trying to reach here.
