Account Concerns
-
My name is Latisha Neil, I am the cardholder on file for Kate Ford’s account (redacted). There are several concerns I’d like to have addressed:
1. Unfortunately, Kate is no longer with the University of Maryland University College and I need to remove my purchase card ending (redacted) from the Auto renewal process set to occur in early November on her account.
2. If possible, replace her name with the new employee who has also replaced her position.
3. Confirm removal of the University’s purchase card.
4. Inquire on the process of creating a ‘house account’ for the department.I would prefer to chat with someone via the telephone. However I look forward to hearing from someone soon regarding this important matter.

This is WordPress.com. What is the address of the WordPress.com hosted site you need help with? Here it is the owner of an account/domain that needs to transfer any site to a different account. As there is no telephone support at WordPress.com I have added a modlook tag to ask if a member of staff could redact your phone number.

Hi –
Thanks for getting in touch. Please let me know the site involved where the card is being charged for.
We can proceed with more instruction once we have a look at the account.

This site associated with the word press account is: http://www.umuc.edu/innovatelearning. I am extremely anxious to get all converted over as the university has strict policy regarding ads on any site with the UMUC logo associated. Please let me know what other information I can provide that will aid in the transition.

Hi there,
http://www.umuc.edu/innovatelearning is not a WordPress.com site, and has no connection to WordPress.com at all. It is not even possible to connect an address like that to a WordPress.com site, as we support neither the use of the
wwwsubdomain, nor mapping to subdirectories like/innovatelearningon WordPress.com.If I click on that link I get taken to https://www.umuc.edu/administration/centers-and-institutes/center-for-innovation-in-learning-and-student-success/index.cfm, which has no connection to WordPress.com either.
If this is a WordPress.com site with a WordPress.com address, it would have an underlying free *.wordpress.com address. Can you please provide that to us? Or else the WordPress.com username of the account that owns the site?
Note that any transfers of site, upgrade or domain ownership can only be done by the account that currently owns the site, and we cannot make any such transfer at a third party’s request.

You need to reach out to the owner of that site with the username fordkateumuc and ask them to transfer the site to another WordPress.com account of your choosing.

Hi,
This is a major concern. Kate Ford (the blog) is no longer affiliated with the University nor the Innovation in Learning blog . Additionally, my UMUC Business card is connected and listed as “auto renew” on Kate Ford’s wordpress account.
Other than contacting Kate, which is currently not an option. How should I proceed?

I’m sure a member of staff will return to this thread but contacting the owner of the site seems to me the only way to resolve this.

Hi @latishaneil, if you’ve got a card that’s auto-renewing an upgrade, we can use a transaction ID from a purchase to verify ownership. We’ll reach out via email for more information.
Cheers :)

Hi – I can see you’ve submitted the account recovery form. Someone will be in touch via email about the recovery. Please wait for your next reply there.
-
I’m sorry – I have misspoken in that last reply.
You did not submit the account recovery form to us. Please reply to the email conversation though, because that’s where we can continue to help as we are limited with what we can say in the public support forums re: account recovery and privacy.

No worries, we’d reached out to you. I can see you were able to resolve this, so we’ve closed it out for you.
For future reference, though, the account recovery form is here:
