  My wordpress account has been deleted. Can I re-register for wordpress using the same email address?
  If not, what do you suggest?

  WordPress.com accounts cannot be deleted. Please see the article below for more information on that and information on reusing email addresses.

  Thanks. Ok correction.
  I deleted a user from the list of users on the blog. Now I do not seem to be able to invite them to join as the WordPress account is apparently still in existence. It says that he has blocked invitations.

  That person has to log in and go to the Notifications page at https://wordpress.com/me/notifications and then scroll to the bottom of the page and unblock:
  Block Emails
  __Block all email updates from blogs you’re following on WordPress.com
  Then click the “save notification settings” link.
