  I deleted my account, mistakenly thinking that I needed to do so in order to link my Google account to WordPress. Unfortunately, I discovered afterwards that now it is impossible to use that same Google-connected email address on WordPress.
  I tried to recover the account following the instructions, but the response was that my activation link was not valid. I copied it a dozen times from the email that WordPress had sent me just half an hour earlier that had enabled me to activate the account, but it still wouldn’t work.

  What is the username of the account that you deleted?

  You should have received an email regarding your account closure. In order to reopen the account, just reply to the email and our Account Recovery Team will assist you.

  After seeing your message, I thought, “I better check my spam folder.” And there was the message from the Account Recovery Team!! Thank you for telling me about that message. I replied to it just now.
