  Hi, I would like to delete my WordPress.com account as it is of no use to me anymore.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi @evanantony,

  While your username account can not be deleted there are steps you can take which will ensure that all your personal information will be removed from WordPress.com. This stops anyone from registering your username in the future. Please follow the steps below to delete your websites and remove your personal information.

  1. To delete your website go to My Site->Configure->Settings then scroll to the bottom and click on Delete Site. If you have multiple websites, follow this step for each of them.

  2. Go to My Account->My Profile and remove all your personal data.

  3. Go to My Account->Account Settings and change your email address to a throwaway address. This will also ensure that you are able to create a new account with the same email in the future.

  4. Go to My Account->Security and change your password to a random string to make sure that no one gets access to it.

  Hi there @evanantony, the current information for deleting your WordPress.com account can be found in this support guide: https://en.support.wordpress.com/close-account/ Since it looks like you might have a paid upgrade, pay special attention to the section on removing any upgrades first.

  @elizazh Please be cautious when quoting old forum replies as things may have changed. Up until last year what you suggested would have been the way to remove one’s WordPressdotcom account. However, with the introduction of the GDPR, WordPressdotcom gave users a simpler method of deleting their account.
