Account Deletion
-
Hello
after how long do inactive account gets deleted automatically.?
I don’t have a site linked to this WordPress.com account
-
Hi, we clear and permanently deactivate an account 30 days after the owner closed it.
If someone just leaves an account inactive, we leave it alone.
Does that help? If not, send more details and we’ll go from there.

a account on wordpress.com is inactive and had no post for years since 2008, somebody created and never logged in again, that account username is what my business name is, I am a registered trademark owner of my business name,
can we claim that username of inactive account to use with our business account.? -
It is not possible to claim someone else’s WordPress.com username account for your own under any circumstances, no.
The fact that the account hasn’t created any posts doesn’t mean it’s inactive. Many people have WordPress.com accounts simply to subscribe to sites using our Reader and to comment on other people’s sites. There are also many websites, mobile apps and online services that use WordPress.com login, or the Gravatar online profile management service that’s tied to WordPress.com. So there’s a multitude of ways in which someone could be using that account that wouldn’t be visible to you – by turning that account over to you we could be prevent them from using several free or paid services where they log in using that account.
If you feel they are violating your trademark in some way, you can find our trademarks complaints process here:

But that only applies to sites, not usernames.

Is there a wordpress support that I can contact and provide the username to check if its active or not for years.? or a way if I can contact a user to make sure if they using that username or not.
-
Your best option is to use any available comment form or contact form on their site.
