Account Deletion???

  The reason for not being able to delete your account? I am developing my own website, and I don’t like having superfluous accounts open.

  It protects you – I can’t take your deleted account and run around the internet pretending to be you.

  I need to apologize, because I didn’t realize that WordPress was going to post this in a forum for anyone to answer. A WordPress account is not on the same level as identity theft (especially since I barely posted anything on it), and so I don’t see how your response is relevant.

  How is this relevant again? My email address is supposedly protected…I mean, can you email me? The only person/people that have access to my account are the site facilitators/administrators. So, how is this commensurate to identity theft? Auxclass stated that it “protects you/me” by not letting anyone pretend to be you/me. If all of my info is deleted permanently then I won’t have to worry about someone pretending to be me…ergo, these responses are irrelevant.

  Of course; it doesn’t answer the question of why doesn’t WordPress let you delete your ACCOUNT…not you blog?!

  You should ask staff that. Posting in the forum is not going to help.

  @raincoaster…if you were a dead horse…I would be repeatedly beating you with a stick! Read what I posted before! I stated that it was not my intention to have this on an open forum. WordPress in all their intelligence immediately creates one after you try to contact its support team.

  Now I am sure that I will have to create a separate forum just to find out how to delete this one…:(

  Save the effort maple – this post is here until the end of the internet or WordPress.COM – forum posts are forever also (save the occasional obscenity or whatever and then the individual post is deleted not the whole thread)
