Account hacked

    Hi there,

    I have had to create a new account for myself as I can no longer log in to my old account (blog: rallychicks.wordpress.com) – it appears to have been hacked and had the contact details changed. It would seem it has been affected/infected by malware (or at least that is what google is telling me). It has also affected my hosting account and caused it to be suspended with my hosting provider. Unfortunately, I can’t get into it to view or fix the issue because I can’t log in.

    If anyone can assist with this I would be grateful – I need to rectify this ASAP as the hosting has affected another business site that I operate.

    “rallychicks.wordpress.com doesn’t exist”

    What’s the URL of the site you believe was hacked?

    Have you tried to reset the password?

    Hey, I was suddenly not able to log into my dashboard, it said something about not being the administrator or having that level of access to my blog http://anordinarydad.wordpress.com for a few minutes. I was able to view stats, just not access the dashboard. I noticed that when this happened my drop down menus (where my gravitar is) were also different. Then suddenly I had access again and the drop down menus returned to normal?

    @feartheseeds
    He meant to say:

    http://rallychick.wordpress.com/

    He is a newbie and he can’t remeber his blog address. His blog is full of relevant info :)

    The only blogs we provide support for on this forum are free hosted WordPress.com blogs, like the one linked to your username. As that blog has no blogger created content what you said above sounds like you’ll find help at the WordPress.org forums. http://wordpress.org/support/

    @timethief, Thank you – your comment is the most relevant. My mistake for posting in the wrong area. Too confusing having so many places to ask for help, and yet not actually be able to speak to someone to sort things out… Sorry for the mixup! So glad I get to re-live this experience in yet another support forum!

    @feartheseeds
    rallychicks is hosted elsewhere (www.rallychicks.com) – I can’t reset the password as whoever has hacked the account appears to have changed the email address and user name.

    @jtanna01 – thanks for your kind words. He (she!!!!) is a newbie, but I do remember my blog address, I have two of them. rallychick.wordpress.com and (originally) rallychicks!!! Any wonder people don’t want to come and post in places like this when there are instant insults by people like you! Gee, I hope you are over at the wordpress.org support forum, cos I really look forward to your useful, constructive feedback there too!

    @hevsmith

    You need to make friends at WordPress.ORG for help with your rallychicks.com site since it is not hosted on WordPress.COM

    It looks like your hosting provide suspended it. It looks like your domain is at Godaddy. If you have your Godaddy account and password and can get in there, you can change the name server info there to use a different hosting provider, or just do domain mapping with WP.com (think of it as WP.com is your hosting provider). If you can and want to do that, scroll down to “I Already have a domain” at http://en.support.wordpress.com/add-a-domain/
