Account Hacked
-
My account, which has aabout 6 websites under it has had its password changed. This is not it it is under thepowerofyes and I have a paid website wfocmedia. I can’t get into it and have been charged for something but I am disputing the charge because I have no way to really contact anyone. Can you help me get into my account?

Are you talking about:
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/users/thepowerofyes/
Have you tried: -
@eennss2 do you have access to the email associated with that account? Is there any chance someone else has access to that, and if so have you taken measures to secure that?
I’d recommend against disputing the charge since that freezes what we can do. But you can use the charge information for account recovery if you’ve lost access to the email. Please try the account recovery form @themagicrobot mentioned (it’s private and secure). If you need more help you can update us here, just be sure not to post any sensitive card / transaction information here.

Hi,
Thanks for the answer.
Finally got in on my mobile device. I couldn’t find out how to access a new password on my laptop for some reason. That said I still don’t know what the charge is for. I only have one domain and clicking on info it comes up as free for some reason. I never got an email about a charge so the dispute is still with my credit card company until I can get some clear information around why I was charged. Thanks again,

I do see a password reset on this account about 12 hours ago, just before you posted here as the
eennss2account. That could only have been done by someone who has access to your email account as well, and has nothing to do with the charge on the account. The charge was an automatic renewal on an existing upgrade, and we sent you an email to notify you that the renewal date was approaching on 9 December already.
The domain that was renewed is brandcandy2.com. You can see the receipt for this charge in your billing history at https://wordpress.com/me/purchases/billing/
You also own two other domains on this site, affirmingwealth.com which is due to renew in August, and wfocmedia.com which is due to renew next month. We have already sent you renewal reminder emails for wfocmedia.com as well.
If you no longer want this domain, we can cancel it and refund the renewal payment. But if you dispute the charge with your bank, all three domains will be removed from your site, the site will be locked pending payment of a chargeback fee, and it can take weeks for our payment processor to complete their investigation into your dispute before you will be refunded, so I won’t recommend that course of action.

I FINALLY found a way to change my password and get in. I’m not clear how my original one was changed but it’s fixed now. I have requested a refund and dropped the dispute with the hopes I’ll get it. The reason I was confused is I went through the effort to cancel brandcandy2 a year ago so I honestly thought the email was spam. As I’m not tech savvy I did notice my WFOCmedia account suddenly switched over to the brandcandy2 account but I thought it was just recalibrating the primary account. I didn’t realize I hadn’t actually cancelled brandcandy2.
I would appreciate a refund and have set all three accounts to expire.
Thank you,
Sheree -
Okay, I’ve cancelled brandcandy2.com and refunded the renewal payment of two days ago.
The other two domains will remain on your account until they expire, or if you prefer you can cancel them immediately from https://wordpress.com/me/purchases/

I forgot to ask, when should I expect to see the refund on my credit card.
Thank you,
Sheree -
Hi Sheree, it looks like this refund may have been processed as a reversal, in which case you’ll just find that the original charge is removed. I’m guessing if the statements are current, you should see it’s gone now.
If the original charge still shows, though, please allow more time for everything to sync up properly. If after 2 weeks you still don’t see the refund on your account, please contact the bank directly to confirm it wasn’t voided, then contact us here.
