  Usernames can only be deactivated — this prevents others from taking the username and impersonating you.

  You can do this yourself by removing all data from your account and sites, then changing the email address to a throwaway account. There are several sites that offer these without registration. Please note we will not be able to help you regain access, and the username cannot be registered again.
