Account Merging

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello:

    I have 2 accounts.

This one (email visible only to moderators and staff)

    and

Another one. Now using the email address (email visible only to moderators and staff) (primary and main account with sites).

Is there a way to merge them or do I have to delete this account first?

    Thanks,
    Tamer

  • Hi Tamer,

The first email is associated with a WordPress.com whereas the second one is not.

Can you please let me know the addresses of the sites you want to consolidate under one account to make sure that they hosted or at least connected to WordPress.com?

I actually resolved this issue. Both accounts were under the one account. The other account was using the email address that I wanted. I just simply changed the email account on the second account and moved it to the right account.

    Thanks,
    Tamer

Actually, all I need to do now is move stats from the old site to the new site? Can you help me with that?

    Thanks,
    Ramona

  • @thecigarlady, I’m sorry, but I don’t understand what you’re asking. Are you the same person as @wpramonabrown?

Both accounts were under the one account

That doesn’t make sense. Accounts on WordPress.com are completely separate, and it’s not possible for one account to be “under” another.

@wpramonabrown is a WordPress.com account. That account does not currently own any sites on WordPress.com, and is not associated with either of the email addresses you provided in your original post.

    @thecigarlady
is a completely different WordPress.com account, associated with its own unique email address, as email addresses cannot be used by more than one account on WordPress.com.

This account owns two sites: a WordPress.com site, https://thecigarladydotcom.wordpress.com/, and a self-hosted site connected to this account via the Jetpack plugin, https://thecigarlady.com/

https://thecigarlady.com/ will also have an admin user account for the site itself. That account is stored in the site’s database, and has no connection at all to your WordPress.com account. We do not have any information regarding that account, as we don’t have access to your hosting provider’s servers where that site’s database resides.

Actually, all I need to do now is move stats from the old site to the new site?

Are you referring to the WordPress.com and self-hosted site I mentioned above? Which is the old site and which is the new?

Yes, same account. I misspoke. I meant that both websites are under the same account. @wpramonabrown is now an old account and I will delete when sure nothing further is attached to it.

I just needed to move the email address from @wpramonabrown to @thecigarlady. I just changed the email address on the old account and was able to update the @thecigarlady with the correct email address. So, simply my problem was, 1 account had the right sites and second account had the right email. At any rate, all is merged now. So, I need no more help for the accounts or emails as originally stated and sorry for the confusion.

The new site is the self-hosted website.
The old site is the wordpress.com website.

Is there anyway to move statistics from the old account to the new account?

I have already moved the users and subscribers via the migrate users tool in WordPress.com control panel for the new self-hosted site.

    Thanks,
    Tamer

  • Thank you for clarifying.

I have merged your stats, as requested.
