Good Afternoon. I still have an active URL but I don’t not have an active account. How do I use my URL again? I keep getting messages that the URL is linked to another WordPress account. But when I try to log in I’m told the account is no longer active or has been deleted? Thank you!

Hi there,
That domain is owned by a different account than the one you’re currently logged in to. So, to manage it, you need to log in to that other account of yours.

I had to create a new account because when I tried to log into my original account it said the old one had been deleted. So if I delete this new one I created with this email address, should I be able to recover the old one because now the email address won’t be associated with an account?

It sounds like perhaps you weren’t logging into the correct account there. Can you tell me what username you were using to login please?
Deleting the account wouldn’t help here, as you can only have one account per email address.

My original account was username Bedlamhollow using the gmail account I used to create this current account (bedlamhollowfarm). I didn’t renew the account but kept the http://www.bedlamhollow.com url. I didn’t realize that I would no longer have access to the WordPress account that went with it. When I tried logging in using my email address or the username, it told me there was no account associated with it. Which is when I created this current account, using the same email address. Thank you!

First, to avoid confusion, the WordPress.com account that owns the domain purchase could not be deleted as long as there was an active subscription. Secondly, the account that owns this domain currently uses a different email address than the one you used to create your
bedlamhollowfarmaccount.Looking at that account’s logs, the email address was originally the Gmail address you mentioned but was changed 9 months ago to the current address on file. So you would need to use the new email address to access the account.
If you don’t remember what you changed it to, since there’s been a recent transaction to renew this domain you’ll also have the transaction ID from charges on this account. You can use that ID in the Account Recovery form to prove ownership of the account, then WordPress.com support can help you from there. You can find that form here:

Just fill out as much information as you have, including an email address where Support can get in touch. The transaction ID will be on your bank statement as
