  I am trying to post a comment here

  The site has a “Comment as” drop-down box with WordPress as an option, wherein I type my username.
  Then I try to post a comment, but it won’t post. If I click on Preview, I get a message that says “You don’t own that identity.”

  I just set up my account as a username only today, and your site tells me my account is activated.

  What is the problem?

  You don’t have a blog. That’s what that ID is actually for, and how it’s confirmed. They can see the blog does not exist. You’ll have to use a different option or start a blog.
