Account not working

  I haven’t used my account for about a year. My jetpack is expired? However I don’t know how to fix it. My account is taleaplata.com it isn’t working.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  It seems that your site (http://taleaplata.com/) is not hosted on WordPress.COM. Your site is hosted on CyrusOne with a software install of WordPress.ORG which means that it is not applicable to this forum.

  It would be better suited for you to ask this question at https://WordPress.org/support/ for a more accurate answer. If you don’t have a WordPress.ORG account you’ll need to create one. Your WordPress.COM account won’t work there.

  Also, you can read the differences of WordPress.com and WordPress.org.

  That’s what I thought, however when I created the account in 2014 it was a wordpress.com account. I still have the email. I was able to view my stats and everything. I’ve read the Web page about the .org vs. com. But I know it was a .com that’s how I was able to create my own name. Taleaplata.com

  Also, I don’t have a .org account because I never used it. I was always signing in and using wordpress.com and it used to work but one day I stopped using it. I had to renew my account the host gator and then now I have access to the website but I can’t do anything with it.

  Hi there,

  The domain, taleaplata.com, has never been registered with WordPress.com. That domain was registered with Hostgator in December 2014.

  You don’t need a WordPress.org account to have a WordPress.org site. WordPress.org is the name of the software you installed at Hostgator to create that site, and Jetpack is a plugin on that site that connects it to your account on WordPress.com. That is how you have been able to manage that site by logging in here at WordPress.com.

  But your site itself is hosted by Hostgator, so you’ll need to contact them to try and get your site back. That will depend on if they still have a backup of your site’s files if your account with them expired. But we’re not able to help with that from this end.
