Account problems
-
I created a personal website for a class project this summer. When I log into my account now to edit it, my profile says it doesn’t exist. I can still enter the address and everything comes up. What can I do to get that content back?

Hi there,
Lancemillam.wordpress.com is under a different account than the one you are contacting us from. You’ll need to log into the account associated with that site in order to regain access to it. Do you remember creating a different WordPress.com account?
-
I only ever used the one email account to log in. Is it somehow possible to have more than one account per email?
-
You should see Lancemillam.wordpress.com listed under My Sites when signed in as lancemillam. If you look through the thread you will see that you’ve written to us from 2 different accounts in this thread.
To answer this:
Is it somehow possible to have more than one account per email?
No. Any email can only be used once.

I figured it out. It seems that even though when emails from wordpress like an email reset request get sent out to my email, having or not having the ” . ” in the name doesn’t matter, but it DOES matter when I’m trying to log in to wordpress. Thank you for your help.

Ah, that makes sense. A dot in an email address does make it count as a different address for our services, even if your mail provider ignores it. It can actually be a great way to have two separate accounts without having to check multiple addresses. :)
