account recovery
-
I set up a website/blog using the WordPress.com free platform ages ago (2011?) and thought that I knew the e-mail address that I had used to set up that account, but I have also set up other sites/blogs using an alternative personal e-mail account (this one!) and so confusion now engulfs everything. The original WordPress.com site/blog is still up and running. The e-mail address that I (thought!) that I had used to set it up is still valid and I still have control of it, but I do NOT have details of the authorisation code or invoice references, etc . The site/blog still has loads of information about me on the site which might be a route of some ‘authentication’ I guess.

According to staff they will only give access to the account if you have one of the following: 1) a transaction ID, 2) an activation URL or key, 3) two factor authentication codes, or 4) access to the email address associated with the account.
