My old email was (email visible only to moderators and staff) and the user name was Frau Rampelt. I’ve got two active sites from that account: http://www.fraurampelt.wordpress.com and http://www.madamerampelt.wordpress.com
-
Can you try the username without a space? If you can remember the password, that username will work and you’ll be able to update to another address.
-
Yup I have tried. I know the username is fraurampelt and I’m 98% sure I have the password right but it keeps booting me out. Sometimes I think I’ve logged in as it shows the admin screen but then seconds later it boots me out and tells me the username is incorrect or that it no longer exists. Which is what is making me worry…
-
If the username should still work, is there a way of getting a temporary password to work with it that will allow me to at least log in and try changing and saving my new email again? And then picking another password too
-
I see another username account here https://en.forums.wordpress.com/profile/fraurampelt
I also see this username account https://en.forums.wordpress.com/profile/rampelt
You have to be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard. The Admin login link to the dashboard for every blog hosted by wordpress.COM is:
http://NAME_OF_BLOG.wordpress.com/wp-admin/
* You will have to replace “name_of_blog” with the actual blog’s name in that URL.
You can update your email address here https://wordpress.com/me at any time.
If you are not logged in under the correct username account then clear your browser cache https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache and cookies https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-wordpress-com-cookies and then login correctly under the relevant username account.
If you did not register the site under your username account and do not have the required access, then you need to contact the person who registered the account and site under it, and have them act or transfer the site to your username account by using this process. http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account
If the login information has been lost go to
https://en.support.wordpress.com/passwords/
https://en.support.wordpress.com/passwords/#lost-passwordIf you check each and every possible email address and account and are not successful gaining access to the blog(s) then you must complete the form for account recovery at this link https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery and submit it to the Account Recovery Staff, and provide proof ownership, so they can contact you by email ie. not on these public support forums, which are available to everyone with internet access.
Support Staff cannot breach the privacy policy and provide the log-in information. You have to provide proof ownership to Account Recovery Staff to gain access https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/

@bettinarampelt we can’t give any kind of access without proof of ownership, otherwise we’d have folks hacking sites left and right. Hope you understand.
If you do have one of these proofs, though, fill out the form and we’ll help you access the site that way:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/You might also ask the old mail provider if they have an option to restore the address.
-
Yes, I’ve been on the account recovery page but I don’t think have any of those three ways to validate ownership. I made the account so long ago I guess it never occurred to me.
Right now my main concern is the pictures of my students that are up on the blogs currently. If I need to scrap everything and start from zero then I will have to bite the bullet and suck it up. But then I need to somehow shut down the other sites and/or take the information off them. This is crucial -
Alright, it seems like I have finally found a way around the problem … Thank you for suggesting I try getting in contact with my previous email provider.
Thank you very much for all the help! I really appreciate the fact that I could talk to someone in ‘really time’; it helped a lot.
Thanks again! -
