Account recovery
-
Hello,
I have the log in for the wordpress.org account that we use to make changes to the website but unfortunately, the employee who created the wrodpress.com account is no longer at our company and his email was disabled. The email for the employee who created the account is: (email visible only to moderators and staff) and our URL is http://sfadvisors.com.
Please let me know what I can do.
My phone number is [redacted] and my email is (email visible only to moderators and staff)
Thanks,
Stephanie -
As there is no telephone support at WordPress.com I have added the modlook tag to ask if a member of staff could reply (and redact your phone number).

Hi,
I’ve tagged “modlook” as you’ve listed your personal information in this public forum, and they may be able to help you with your issue.

Hi @svanalbert, since that site is self-hosted, we cannot help you with that here at WordPress.com.
I would suggest asking for help in the volunteer-based WordPress.org forums and they can give you some options.
WordPress.com and WordPress.org are separate, so if you do not already have an account at WordPress.org, you will register.
The one thing that comes to mind for me, is that since that is a company email address the ex-employee had, why not just set that up again temporarily and then you monitor it and do the password recovery procedure. After you get in, change the email address at Settings > General to an appropriate one and then once that is done, delete that ex-employee email address.
