Account Recovery Does Not Accept Activation Key

  Attempting to enter my activation URL to validate my lost account at https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery gives me the error ‘The activation key does not appear to be valid.’

  I need to recover the email since the email address used to create the site was deleted.

  Alternatively I would like to have the site set to private, or deleted if possible, since it contained my name on the blog.

  Correct account: Yes
