account recovery — locked out!

  I’m trying to help my partner recover his account. The login page does not recognize any of his email addresses or the user name it was created under. There is no transaction record in past emails and no two-factor authentication. Can we provide a copy of a driver’s license as proof of ownership? Thank you.

  Hi alisonwriter,

  What is the username of the account or address of the site you are trying to recover? Our login forms will only accept those details for sites hosted on WordPress.com — not those using WordPress.org software with another host (you would need to contact the host in that instance).

  Can we provide a copy of a driver’s license as proof of ownership?

  We can only accept proof of ownership listed on the Account Recovery Form:

  Once I know the site address, I can point you in the right direction.

  the account is michaeltougias.wordpress.com. let me know if there are alternatives to an email link sent 10+ years ago! thanks.

  Hi there,

  Please use the password reset form and instead of inputting the email, enter the username mtougias. Then check all the email addresses you have access to for the password reset message.
