Account recovery not working

So by mistake I created a new wordpress.com login with my new primary email in stead of changing the email for my old account.
Then i realized my misake and deleted the new account successfully, but now when i try to change the email of my old account to the new primary email it tells me the email is already is use, probably from the “new” deleted account.I tried the account recovery page but eve though i have the activation key from the activation email it tells me the key is invalid and wont let me continue. Also it requires a blog to be filled out, and there was no blog connected to this account since it was only live for a few minutes before realizing y mistake.
The obvious recover password does not work and if i try to get a activation email resent to the adress it tells me its already activated. Makes sense, but its also deleted so i cant login?
TL;DR Deleted account is hogging my primary email so i cant use it for my primary account.

Hi there.
Perhaps you could try adding a “+modifier” as an alias. For example, if the email you want to use is (email visible only to moderators and staff), you could use something like (email visible only to moderators and staff).
This would likely satisfy WordPress as a different email address while having emails pertaining to your site going to your intended inbox, assuming your email provider supports this sort of modifier. (Gmail, Outlook, and most providers do.)
I’m not 100% sure this will work as I’ve not run into this use case, but it’s worth a shot. Let us know how it goes.

Hi there,
Please contact us from the email associated with the deleted account to help you restore that account. Then you’ll be able to change the email address.

Where can I contact you? Im not allowed to send the form of account recovery because it says either i need to enter a blog url which i have none, or the activation key but it says it is invalid. -

Could you reply to the confirmation email we sent when you closed the account? Then we check our system and go from there.
If you are unable to find it, please let me know which email address was tied to the closed account — you can type the address here as normal and it will be redacted from public view but I’ll be able to see it.
