Account recovery not working
-
Good day
I am part of a team assisting BizNews with setting up an analytics platform. We are looking to use the WordPress v1.1 API, from which we require account administrator authentication. We have followed the account recovery process, and we are getting the response ‘Sorry but the website you gave does not exist on WordPress.com. Is it a self-hosted WordPress.org website?’.We are not sure how to proceed, and would appreciate your assistance with this.
WP.com: Yes
Correct account: Unknown -
Hi there!
To avoid confusion, there are three different “WordPress” at play here:
1. The free, open-source WordPress software which powers your website.
2. WordPress.org which is the open-source project that works on the WordPress software and where you can get the software for free to use on your own hosting provider.
3. WordPress.com which is a managed hosting provider of the WordPress software and with whom you’re contacting now.If you can let us know the URL of the site where you’re needing help, we’ll be better able to advise where you can get help.
Thank you!

Hi
Thanks for getting back to me. The site URL is https://www.biznews.com. Please let us know how we can move forward on the request above.
Thank you.

Are you using https://www.biznews.com/wp-admin to log in?
If that isn’t working, your host may be able to help you make backups and use one of these recovery options:
https://wordpress.org/support/article/resetting-your-password/Then, if you need more help, head to the forums for self-hosted sites at https://wordpress.org/support , since these forums are for the free sites hosted here at WordPress.com. Here’s the difference between our services and your installation of WordPress with another host:
