I am trying to reset a password with without having the orgionial email using the account recovery form on a blog I was unable to sign in on. My problem is I don’t have any of the three proofs of ownership asked for in the form, but do have some other proof. I’m unable to submit the form with only information in the other information box and not having one of the three boxes checked. What I would like to be able to do is to submit a PDF file with other information to prove ownership. What can I do?

    Hi bhile934430887,

Just following up on the modlook tag added to this thread. As @justjennifer suggested, can you send a link to the site you need help with?

    Thanks!

Are you able to log in as user cardbird ? Do you remember the email address, and is there a chance you could regain access to it?

Unfortunately a PDF of proofs other than the ones we mentioned is unlikely to help, because we wouldn’t have other private information about you.

The email account is no longer available because the service provider went out of business.
The proof that i wanted to provide in the PDF file was a copy of the driver license of the business owner and a copy of the sales tax permit for the business with the owners name listed.
If you will not take that as proof, is there anything we can do?
Is there any body there we could discuss this issue with?
We are still looking for the password but don’t think we can find it. The last password I am aware of is [redacted].
Also, on my business cards I have the site vintageaffaire.wordpress.com
If I can’t get back in my wordpress site I will have to get new business cards with a new site and you will just have a dead site with no new posts in your system.

We never collected the driver’s license, though, so we have nothing to compare it to. If we accepted that, anyone could send in a license and say the site is theirs.

Don’t type your passwords here in public, by the way. I’ve removed that for you. We won’t ask for your passwords except through the actual password form.

Is there anything else that we can do?

I’m afraid not — without access to the account email address of proof of ownership, we won’t be able to help you recover the site for security reasons. They are the only recovery options we can accept.

Sorry to hear that, you have lost a customer, your going to have an account that is going to sit there without any postings or activity and are going to get bad reviews anytime we can give one.
As for proof of ownership, a driver license with the business owner’s name and address and a Texas Sales Tax permit that matches the owner’s name and address should be enough for any reasonable person to acccept.
If you look at the website you can see my address at 106 e. 2nd in Taylor Texas is stated in many of the postings – that is the same as my driver’s liscense. Therefore it could not be anyone else’s posting.
I need to have the email of someone higher up in your process so that I can get my site back.
