Account recovery to get website back up and running *URGENT*

    Hello,
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
I purchased a premium 2 year plan in October 2019, which just expired. My email received notifications warning me of the pending renewal, but that email is not one I check much anymore, and when I checked about a month ago and saw one email, it warned of the expiration of fearian889.wordpress.com, not of http://www.michaelandcarina.com, which uses a WordPress.ORG blog with a Showit (html5) theme. I admittedly did not think that this would cause an issue with michaelandcarina.com, but apparently it was hosted through wordpress.com’s premium plan.

Today, I noticed the site was down. I wanted to login to update payment information but WordPress is not allowing me to login.
It seems the premium plan I purchased originally for a WordPress.COM has expired and taken my WordPress.ORG blog, with it.

What’s the fastest way to get my website + blog, with almost 10 years of wedding photography content, back up and running again? Thank you thank you thank you!

I will definitely be more observant in the future – trying not to have a panic attack as I write. :/

    Thanks again,

    Carina

The domain may well have been purchased here along with a plan but at some stage did you then point it to GoDaddy? Are you sure your GoDaddy account hasn’t expired? If you purchased a domain here for 2 years one year ago shouldn’t it renew in a years time? I see that now this thread has been tagged for staff assistance.

    Hi,

I purchased the domain “michaelandcarina.com” from Godaddy.com in October 2019 for 2 years-

I’m on the phone with them now but this has to be linked to WordPress.com, the timeline matches up with the emails I have in my unused inbox from wordpress.com warning of premium expiration.

GoDaddy confirmed that the issue is with WordPress***

  • Hi there,

I do not see michaelandcarina.com under your WordPress.com account when I check on our end. You can confirm by visiting this page: https://wordpress.com/sites.

Is it possible you created your site under a different login?  I do see michaelandcarina.com as listed in our system but it is under a different login than the account you are using now (@carinabethea) to contact us here.

We are not able to help here in the support forums, as verifying account ownership requires us to ask you to provide info that is best not shared in this public venue.

With this in mind, please fill out this form here to the best of your ability: https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery

This will send all the info you have to our account recovery team, and from there they will contact you directly to assist you in regaining access to the account that owns michaelandcarina.com so you can renew the domain and return it to active status.

    Hope this helps

    Hi Jerry,

You are absolutely correct, the domain “michaelandcarina.com” should be associated with a YAHOO email address which I won’t list here, but you should be able to see it.

I created this account because when I try to login to WordPress to update my payment information to make a payment with the aforementioned address, it says that account has been deleted. This has to be a mistake or something, some sort of error. I didn’t delete an account and I don’t think the account would have been deleted when my payment renewal didn’t go through.

I filled out that form 2x and sent it in – thank you for your help and any further assistance you can provide with this up to date information is much appreciated!

    Thank you!

    Best,

    Carina
