Account Recovery – With A Twist
-
Hello WP Support!
I don’t think this is really the ideal place to submit this query, but I was unable to submit it via the Account Recovery form, & have not been able to locate an actual support email or chat anywhere. So here goes:
I have a particularly inconvenient conundrum, as I cannot provide proof of ownership of an account. I created it in 2008 while in college, using an email address that, upon trying to log in, I discovered no longer exists. So I can’t retrieve the password information for the email address I used to create the account, which means I can’t retrieve the password information for the account itself. I have not touched the account or blog since I created it, but I was recently contacted by one of my friends, whose story was featured on the blog, asking if I could remove her information. Upon revisiting the site, I’ve decided I’d like to remove the whole thing, but obviously, I can’t get into the account to do so!I can provide detailed contextual information that I feel proves I’m the owner of this account if necessary. I just would like to remove the blog entirely. If you could let me know the options for next steps, I would greatly appreciate it. College is fun, but sometimes our values shift, & we no longer want such public records of our admittedly drunken exploits.
Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Also please note the blog I need help with is NOT the above mentioned beanlouise.wordpress.com, but an unrelated account: https://clinkdrunkstories.wordpress.com/

Hi there,
The forms of verification required on the account recovery form are the only proof of ownership that we can accept to give you access to another site. If you’re unable to provide any of that, we won’t be able to help you.
What you can try is to ask your college/university if they can temporarily reactivate your email. Some institutions do this if requested. Then you can use that email address to reset the password and regain access.

Unfortunately the account is not linked to my college email; it’s linked to a live.com email which, when I try to log in, informs me that the email does not exist. Yet I know this is the email linked to the account, & the account is clearly mine (it was written by me, & I published friends & family members’ stories in both written form & via video).
Is there any other way I can prove I am the owner of this account?

I’ve sent you an email with the one option that is available. Please reply there if you have any more questions.
