Account/site login confusion
-
a couple years ago my site was corrupted and deleted. I’ve tried a couple times to log in and fix it, and one time actually did get in and start the process, but it took so long to figure out logging in I ran out of time. Now I can’t get back in again. I go to my sites in the wp dashboard now, and there are no sites. I can go to the site. I can see the site. But I can’t log in to it via the link on the page.
complicating all this is the possibility that way back, I actually made two wp accounts (kind of accidentally). But I can’t find email records to help me with that. How do I recover my username and password for the site itself?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Based on your situation with http://www.themightyviking.com, I’ve checked and your site is not hosted on WordPress.com it’s a self-hosted (Dreamhost) WordPress.org installation. This means you’ll need to recover your login through your hosting provider, not WordPress.com support.
But the initial steps are:
- Go to your site’s login page (usually yoursite.com/wp-login.php or yoursite.com/wp-admin)
- Click “Lost your password?” and enter the email associated with your WordPress account
- Check that email (including spam folder) for a password reset link
- If you don’t receive it, the email on file may be outdated or inaccessible
