I just purchased a premium template for $125, and I just realized that upgrading my plan to a business plan (which I am going to do) includes premium templates. Can I get a credit towards my plan upgrade or can I cancel my template purchase since I am going to upgrade my plan?

You can refund the premium theme purchase. Use the process found here https://en.support.wordpress.com/manage-purchases/#canceling-and-refunding-purchases to cancel and request a refund.

Refunds https://en.support.wordpress.com/refunds/ are time limited.
• WordPress.com provides a 30-day refund from date of purchase on all upgrades except Domain Registrations, Domain Renewals, and Guided Transfers.
• The refund period for Domain Registrations and Renewals is 48 hours.

On June 12th we processed a full refund of $125 for the theme purchase. This should reach you within ten days.
