  I set up account using my student email, I haven’t received the verification link. I tried to update my email to my personal email & am unable to save it. Please let me know what I need to do to activate the account.

  Have you looked for the activation email in your spam filter? If you use Gmail or Google Apps, have a look at this support page for assistance: https://en.support.wordpress.com/email-notifications/gmail-issues/

  When you tried to change the email did you get an error message?
