Account was set up in someone's name no longer with company

Hello,
We have a blog set up for blog.kitchenandcompany.com. The person who set it up is no longer with our company so we do not have the necessary log in credentials needed and we are starting the process of actually using this site and the blog. How can I go about proving this is our site? I’m not sure if he ever gave me ownership permissions, but when I did forgot password for my work email it said ‘You have no sites’. ANY insight would be much appreciated!

That’s extremely unfortunate as you will need their cooperation to transfer the site to your ownership. Companies, groups and organizations of any kind do not own blogs.
Every WordPress.COM blog has a sole owner and it is the person with the WordPress.COM username account who registered the blog under that username account and their associated email address. The email address registered with the relevant WordPress.com username account is the unique identifier.

WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.
